Review of 2015

Welcome to Primary 3B! We would like to share all the interesting and exciting topics we have learned so far!

Our first topic in Primary 3 was the ‘Forth and Clyde canal’. During this topic we learned all about the history of the Forth and Clyde canal, as well as researching about what it is used for today. We went on a canal walk, and made a senses booklet about what we can see, hear, smell and touch along the canal. The highlight of this topic was going on a very exciting trip to the Falkirk wheel. On this trip we went on the boat trip and were able to experience how the Falkirk wheel actually works. We also participated in an educational workshop where we pretended to be navvies making the canal with sand and other tools.

Our next topic in Primary 3 was ‘Things We Eat’. During this topic we learned about how to keep ourselves healthy and that it is important to have a balanced diet. We learned all about the food groups and looked at the different types of food we like to eat. We also carried out different science experiments, investigating what happens to chocolate and ice-cubes when they are heated and cooled. This was very interesting!

Well done to P3 for taking part in the Nativity this year as the amazing angels. Your singing was beautiful!

It is now 2016 and we have began transforming our classroom into a powerful Roman Empire for our Joyning the Learning Topic but sssh the rest is a secret.

Remember our gym days are now a Monday and a Tuesday and we will also be getting music every second Wednesday with Mrs Jones!
