Primary 5

Welcome back for the final term in Primary 5.

Last term the children had a very successful Joyning the Learning topic and learned lots about Wallace and Bruce. All children produced excellent work that was displayed in the class museum. We also had a fun day out at the Wallace Monument. Thank you to everyone who attended the open evening.

This term we are learning number sequences to one million, multiplication, division and fractions. Please keep going over times tables at home to support classwork.

We are also enjoying lots of active learning and problem solving activities.

This term we are back on our Ginn Reading programme and have lots of exciting new stories to read. Please continue encouraging children to read at home for enjoyment.

We are working very hard to improve our Spelling and presentation of work!

Our new topic is called Pollution and Conservation. We will be learning about Endangered Animals and ways that we can protect out environment.

Please encourage children to research at home using the internet and books.

Once again, if you have any interesting resources or special knowledge in this area please contact us.

The children are working hard at French and learning lots of exciting new words and phrases. We have even learned to say the Sign of the Cross in French!

Last term the children were very busy preparing for Resurrection Rock. Well done everyone! This term we are back to our Alive-0 5 programme.

Please encourage children to check Glow regularly and add to the Primary 5 Discussion Page. There is also a Homework Help page where children can discuss homework ideas.

Homework will continue to be issued Monday to Thursday. Please ensure children complete all homework to a high standard. Please ensure the diary is signed each night and continue to use as a means of communication.

Thank you for your continued support at home.

Miss Robertson
