Primary 1D

Primary 1D have had a very busy term at school .

We had fun actively learning about and using Toys from the past to present day. We worked very hard to transform our classroom into a very bright and colourful toyshop which was very busy with special guests on our opening night!

In number we have really enjoyed exploring adding numbers to 10 and have been practising to read, write and count our numbers up to 20.We have also been looking at 3D shapes and trying to use them to make fabulous robots for our toyshop!  At home try to encourage your child to practise counting lots of different objects up to 20 and to have a go to write the numbers down.

A very special friend has joined our class this term. He is called Adventure Ted. Each child will have a turn to take him on a special adventure with their family .Please use the camera in his bag to take a photograph to remind us of his wonderful adventure to your home!

Our next topic is called the ‘In the Garden.’ Hopefully the weather stays dry so that we can have great fun exploring and learning about plants and Minibeasts in our outdoor classroom.

Our class gym days this term are Tuesday and Thursday. Can you please make sure your child has gym kit on these days.

Just a reminder that we are encouraged to drink water (not juice) in class at appropriate times throughout the day, so please send your child to school with a water bottle.

We have homework four nights a week. Please remember to check and sign your child’s diary and help them to write an achievement at the end of the week.

Thank you
